I am sick to death of super hero movies, which is one of the reasons I went to see Deadpool. Cause I’d heard it kinda takes the piss out of them. It does! But… it also is a super hero movie itself, enough so that the people who love super hero movies will still love it too.
Deadpool does a lot of things like this. It appeals to a huge audience while somehow managing to be niche at the same time. It’s really quite impressive.
If you like super hero movies, you’ll like it.
If you’re sick of super hero movies (like me) you’ll like it.
If you loved the comic, you’ll like it.
If you never heard of the comic (like me) you’ll like it.
If you like action movies with lots of blood and explosions, you’ll like it.
If you want a goofy comedy, you’ll like it.
If you want a brutal revenge story, you’ll like it.
If you want gross out humor and crude jokes, you’ll like it.
If you like REFERENCES!!, you’ll like it.
If you want serious themes of love and loss, it’s got some of that too.
If you’re late-stages of religious, or a prude/snob, that’s probably the only reason I could think of that you wouldn’t at least get a slight enjoyment out of this movie.
That’s probably why it broke records for opening weekend for an R rated movie.
Unfortunately, I guarantee you Hollywood is going to miss the point, and instead of giving creators more creative freedom and trusting them to do good with content they love, we’re going to get CEO’s shouting for ‘more gore and f-words! that’s what they like! make wolverine say fuck! yeah! ‘
So it goes.
I loved DEADPOOL yeah!! Eat comic movie I’ve seen so far
