we all wear masks, literally speaking

i think it’s time to buy a balaclava.

cameras are everywhere, we already know this. after the recent Ring doorbell controversy (get rid of yours if you have one) we now know that those in power will use our cameras to watch us, regardless of what we have to say about it.

we know that meta is working on their face recognition glasses, which will search and display to the wearer the identity of any person they look at. and we also know that meta are taking advantage of the recent civil unrest to do this, when normally it would probably be something people would be concerned about.

in the meantime, we are plagued by secret police who wear masks and go around anonymously assaulting and abducting people, without any way to be identified.

well, if they can wear masks, so can i. i don’t want to have my full name and address floating above my head everywhere i go, especially when people are increasingly being targeted by authorities for having ‘wrong’ opinions.

reclaim your humanity. abandon the song and dance of self promotion. vanish into the crowd, as we all should have the right to do.

level the playing field. wear a balaclava in public all the time. normalize anonymity again.
