unless you’ve had a 25% pay increase since 2020, you’ve had a pay cut.
if you were making $20 an hour in 2020, for example, then unless you are now making $25 an hour or more, you’ve had a pay cut.
any job that doesnt give you a raise every year is actually giving you a pay cut every year
the cost of everything goes up constantly every year. if your pay is not going up at at least the same rate, you are being taken advantage of.
do not kill yourself for a job that cuts your pay every year.
work as little as possible, since they pay you as little as possible.
work 5% less each year.
labor is at the absolute bottom of any company’s priorities. it is always the first thing to be cut and the last thing to be increased.
it follows then that the bigger a company you work for, the less you should work. they can afford to pay you double or triple while still being profitable, they just don’t want to. so maybe you could work twice as hard, but you just don’t want to.
it is morally correct that you should work as little as possible in a job that pays you as little as possible.
if you work at google or meta or microsoft or one of the other companies actively destroying our planet and funding the surge of fascism across the globe, maybe you should see if you can do negative work.
i can’t think of anything more helpful to our planet and the happiness and freedom of everyone on it, than burning down a data center.
