After nearly eight months of waiting, Orson Scott Card’s Intergalactic Medicine Show has accepted my story! I’ve been told it will be in the next issue, and looking at their site, the previous issue was out in April so that should be within a couple months.

This will be the most prestigious magazine I’ve been in yet, and brings me one step closer to joining the SFWA. One more sale to an accepted market and I’ll be in.

Now time to write and submit a dozen more stories…

Secret good news.

I can now share the news I had from last week 🙂

My story ‘Repossession’ will be appearing in Fireside Magazine sometime next year, in either issue four, five or six.

Fireside is a genre-less magazine, ‘no genre’s, no limits, just good stories’  is their motto, and I like the idea a lot myself 🙂

I like to be surprised when I’m reading, when I get a new book I make a point never to read the synopsis, and usually just make my choice based on friends recommendations. I like not knowing what’s coming, and not even knowing what genre of story I’m reading sounds even better!

So, if you have a story that you don’t quite know the genre, or you don’t want it to be defined solely by its genre, this would be a good place to send it. And if you want to read stories that are just good, regardless of what they are about, then you should check out this magazine as well!

‘Repossession’ is not a sci-fi tale for a change, and is the first non sci-fi story I’ve sold. It is about survival, and what people will give up in order to live.

Keep an eye on this mag, I think it’s going to be a big one soon, and keep an eye out for my story sometime next year 🙂

Asimov’s has rejected me, after almost 90 days of waiting. Usually they reject me in about 5 weeks so I was getting my hopes up :/

They must have just been busy.

Ah well, it’s been sent off to Strange Horizons next!

Also I’ve been writing a fantasy thing, which I haven’t done in a while and it’s pretty fun. About 7k words so far and I’m not bored with it yet, so I’m pretending it’s a novel for now.

I’ve got lots of other stories floating around out there, so hopefully I’ll have good news to post here eventually 🙂

Deathday, June 19th

My story Deathday is now avaliable to read on the DSF website! It is on the front page for today, and afterward will be archived here.

Check it out and tell me what you think!

‘Deathday’ June 12th

My short ‘Deathday’ is going to be mailed out to Daily Science Fiction subscribers on the twelfth of this month, and archived on the DSF site on the nineteenth!

Subscribe here so you don’t have to wait to read it!

Some news! None of it good, sadly. ‘Cain’s Offering’ was rejected from flash fiction online, and ‘Limeren’t Egg’ was rejected from both Clarkesworld and Lightspeed. ‘Palindrome’ is still waiting at Asimov’s though, which could be good, as it’s been there for three weeks, and my last story was rejected after only 4 days.

I don’t think I’ll be submitting anything for a while, I’m just going to focus on writing and writing and writing for the rest of this month. Look forward to more daily stories!
